The former engine is only available for lower-trim Extended Cab models; the latter engine is only available for Crew Cab and 4WD variations. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed automatic transmission on the 4-cylinder, while the V6 only comes with the 5-speed automatic transmission. The Equator's 0 to 60 time is 8 seconds on the V6 Sport model, a fairly quick time for a midsize pickup; its maximum towing capacity is up to 6,300 pounds (when properly equipped); and its maximum payload is 1,471 pounds. Depending on your engine, drivetrain, and cab choices, fuel economy can range anywhere from 19 city/23 highway MPG (4CYL Ext. Cab RWD) to 14 city/19 highway MPG (V6 Crew Cab 4WD). For 2011, the RMZ-4 Sport trim, tilt steering wheel on the Base trim, and the V6 engine on the Extended Cab RWD model have all been done away with. |
